Virtual Studio Groups is built by artists, for artists — a space for honest dialogue, peer feedback, and collective knowledge-sharing, without the constraints of physical location.

About VSG

How it works

VSG grew from an experimental virtual residency during the pandemic into an ongoing international network of artists, curators, and cultural professionals.

Our Sunday meetings are one part of a larger ecosystem — alongside artist presentations, interviews, publications, exhibition projects, and VSG Magazine. Presentations are informal and discussion-based. Artists participate voluntarily, and the community gives back through feedback, visibility, and real connection.

VSG is free to join and artist-led. There is no hierarchy and no fixed agenda. Members engage when it's right for them, at whatever level fits their practice.

Meeting details

Every Sunday evening, 8 PM (European time). Online via video call. Open to artists, curators, cultural professionals, and art writers.

Sessions are peer-to-peer — no hierarchy, no predetermined agenda. Everything adapts to the needs of participants.

Sister Network

AIR Exchange Network

A parallel initiative — same principle of peer dialogue and sustained online community, but for a different circle: people who run, organize, or are building artist residencies and artist-run spaces.

AIR Exchange Network is an international peer circle for residency organizers and artist-run space directors — and for those who are thinking about starting one and want support along the way.

We meet online once a month to exchange experiences, share working methods, and discuss the questions many of us are facing: from sustainability and funding to artist care, programming, and the long-term impact of what we build.

This is different from directories, mailing lists, and institutional networks. It is a live, ongoing conversation — not a database, not a conference, not a broadcast channel. The value is in the dialogue itself.
