The Virtual Studio Groups project evolved from our virtual residency program, initiated during the pandemic when travel was restricted. With a decade-long history of art residency in Belgrade and a vast artist network, the project grew organically.

Virtual Studio Groups is a new model for artistic connection and peer support — born from our experience running residencies, where we saw that what artists value most is feedback, dialogue, and a sense of community.

This is a space for artistic growth, experimentation, and collective knowledge-sharing, without the constraints of physical location. It is a space for meaningful exchange. Our platform provides a flexible, process-driven environment where artists, curators, and cultural professionals can share ideas, receive constructive feedback, and develop their projects with an engaged international art community.

Through regular virtual meetings, we foster deep discussions, critical dialogues, and networking opportunities. There are no predetermined outcomes — everything adapts to the needs of participants.

Key aspects of Virtual Studio Groups:

  • Peer Connection & Feedback — A dedicated space for exchanging ideas and insights with fellow artists.
  • Critical Discussions — Engaging dialogues on contemporary art, its impact, and evolving practices.
  • Global Networking — Expand your creative network and find future collaborators.

Virtual meetings are scheduled regularly, once a week, Sunday evening at 8 PM.

As the group grows, it can diversify into thematic subgroups, each with its own discussions.

An essential aspect of the project is virtual mobility, addressing ecological concerns and enhancing communication speed. By minimising physical travel, we reduce environmental impact while accelerating idea exchange and fostering genuine artistic communion.
